Rescued Passenger Kisses and Waves Goodbye to Cruise Ship

The US Coast Guard medevaced a cruise passenger after she experienced symptoms of appendicitis. The US Coast Guard rescued a sick passenger on December 12, 2011 from the SAS’ Explorer cruise ship about 130 miles southwest of Key West. In late September I took Slider about 40 miles west of her home dock, to a remote-seeming anchorage behind the ruins of old Fort McRee on Perdido Key, to spend a few days in small boat heaven.
